Sharing web2.0 ideas.

Sharing web2.0 ideas.
Date: Oct. 5, 2006

Web20 is a "concept" not a technology, nor a new model. It has already existed since WWW happened.
The concept is clear: interaction between web users.

As a heavy Internet user, I've observed the new style from the old style of interaction. All are credited by techonology. Here are some admirable Web 2.0 websites that illustrate the new/old fashion. Most of these successful sites stick onto a main service and expand value added components to serve their users.

new thing!!-------------------------old model

1. amazon.com--------------->online store
2. writely.com---------------->online editing, html editing,
3. technorati.com------------>search
4. pandora.com-------------->online radio
5. youtube.com-------------->online tv
6. bookcrossing.com---------->habit exchange
7. orkut.com----------------->online match, match maker
8. blogger.com/geocities.com-->blog, online homepage
9. ebay.com------------------>aution, garage sale, flea market
10. epapers ------------------> RSS
11. Soulseek----------------->online music store
12. zopa.com/paypal.com------>loan/credit card service from bank.

What makes Web2.0 happened? Technology of course!!
The expense on hardware, network and software are lower than 3 or 5 years ago. More and more people have dived into programming, networking and system professionals to realize ideas. Thus infrastructure is essential to all great ideas.
As above, technology has simplified users to not only "takers" from websites but also "givers" to share their ideas among the Internet world with reachness of whole world.

Web is fun, interactive!
To provide better services, we have to stick on the main idea, online shopping, provide more super-purchasing experience and interact with customers. Think at consumers'(buyer and seller) side.
